Vince Gironda was a professional body builder from America. He was also an owner and author of celebrity famous. He was known with the nick name Iron Guru.

When he was very young, as a child, his family shifted to Los Angeles because his father, who was a famous stuntman, got an offer to work in the upcoming movie Ben Hur. Inspired by his father, even Vince tried hard to become a stuntman; however after seeing a photograph of J. Grimek, he understood that had to become physically fit first. So he started weight lifting when he was only 22 years old. The first gym where he acquired his weight lifting training was YMCA. Here, he practiced different workouts for about 8 months and then he moved to Easton brother’s Gym. There he worked as an instructor and experimented with training protocols. He got lot of training and experience form here and finally he opened his own gym in 1948 in California.

He was a promoter of low carbohydrate dieting and suggested using several supplements that comprised of kelp, desiccated liver tablets, glandular and digestive enzymes like orchic and adrenal. In some cases, Vince also suggested three dozen fertile eggs of a hen with unpasteurized and unhomogenized raw milk. This is so because according to him, large amount of fertile hen eggs were equivalent to steroid Dianabol. He was always against to provide any scientific evidence to support his theories.

He had a very rip and lean physique that was quite ahead of time. Just for this simple reason, he never stood first since in those days only bulky and big men had the opportunity to win body building contests. However, many people today indeed appear like Vince than any other body builders of that time. Gironda was a good trainer as well to the stars. He offered excellent training to the TV and movie stars and body builders in California where he ran his own gym named Vince’s Gym in Studio City. This gym was in existence from 1948 – 1997.

This gym of Vince lasted for about forty nine years. It was started in 1948 and closed by 1997. This gym was a small gym that had a very simple motto. There was no music and no fancy machines used, but only hard training and basic free weights workouts. Most of the top movie stars and body builders had acquired training from here.
